Our Commitment to You

At Book Bunk, we believe that every shilling entrusted to us is a vote of confidence in our mission to restore Nairobi’s public libraries. We know that many Kenyans are rightly cautious about crowdfunding, and we want to assure you that transparency and accountability are at the heart of this campaign.

Use of Funds

Funds raised through the particular campaign titled Safe Spaces for Children; running will be used exclusively for the upgrading of the McMillan Memorial Library’s Children’s Section.

The specific scope of work planned for funds secured by the Safe Space for Children campaign is just a step of many towards the full restoration of McMillan Memorial Library. Over the last two years, we’ve worked with experts from around the world to plan the restoration as well as to safeguard its rare collections through digitization. Urgent roof and basement repairs as well as comprehensive drainage studies are scheduled to begin in late 2025. This will unlock sanitation and electrical works for which we are actively planning and seeking partners for.

Updates will be shared through our social media, website, newsletters (sign up here), and direct communication channels.
